LIVERPOOL JOHN MOORES UNIVERSITY

Law

Pre-Master's  |  Placement Year:   No

The LLB contains a number of modules that focus specifically on the skill sets that employers value, such as Mooting, Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Professional Development in Law. While the course will develop your academic knowledge sufficiently to succeed in any legal profession, you will also gain a host of transferable skills relevant to careers both within and outside law. Communication, writing and organisational skills are all assets that will help you stand out from the crowd when you eventually enter the open job market.

In addition to the work-related learning built into specific modules, you will be encouraged to seek out vacation and work placements to get vital work experience. Our student law society provides excellent opportunities to network with local solicitors and barristers who could help you to secure a work placement, but your tutors will also be on hand to support you in finding a suitable position.

The School of Law's academic tutors work closely with LJMU's student development co-ordinator and careers advisors. As a result the School has received a research grant from the Higher Education Academy to fund further projects into enhancing Law School student employability prospects after their graduation.
