This is a new programme and will produce its first graduates in July 2020 – just before the Tokyo Olympics. Graduates of our existing Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences programmes are currently undertaking PhD research in related subjects, lecturing in UK universities, working as consultants in elite sport (e.g., English Premier League football, Lawn Tennis), heading up national sport psychology services (e.g., for the English Institute of Sport), driving sport development at grassroots level (e.g., local authorities) and helping to deliver corporate healthcare solutions (e.g., for Nuffield Health).
Our Psychology graduates are valued by many employers, not least because of the critical thinking and analytical skills they possess. Additionally, with a good degree in Psychology – we also recommend suitable experience – you may go on to train as a clinical, educational, occupational or forensic psychologist.
Other careers include work with adults or children with disabilities, counselling, personnel management, market research and advertising, prison and probation work, speech and language therapy and psychological research.
