You will quickly find that willingness to learn and determination is more important than prior knowledge.

The foundation year is hosted by the Department of Mathematics, to reflect the essential role of mathematics in your subsequent studies. Once you have successfully completed your foundation year with the grades needed for your chosen degree course in the Economics & Finance Department, you progress directly into Level 1 of that degree – there’s no need to re-apply via UCAS.

Module & Subject

The foundation year covers material that would usually have been covered in A-level mathematics and economics, so that students are well equipped to begin BSc degrees in economics and finance.

  • GPA 4.0 or 75%

    70% is required in any specific subjects that are stated in GCE A-level entry requirements above.

    • Pearson: 58 (51 in all subscores)
    • BrunELT: 65% (min 55% in all areas)
