Starting in September 2018, our new Master’s course in Disease Mechanisms and Therapeutics focuses on bridging the molecular basis of human diseases with innovative therapeutic approaches.
You'll learn about the molecular mechanisms leading to major human diseases and the areas where research should focus to address the existing knowledge gaps and challenges. You'll also deepen your knowledge on the current available treatments and will be encouraged to identify possible innovative therapeutic opportunities arising from technological developments.
The course will also give you the opportunity to gain experience of different modern laboratory techniques and consider the legislative and ethical aspects linked to the discipline. In addition, you'll receive training in statistics and bioinformatics which are fundamental to the biomedicine sector.
During your course you will be fully integrated within the Division of Bioscience and directly supervised by one of our academic staff. We are a research intensive Division and the majority of our academics are also part of the successful and rapidly expanding research in the Institute of Environment, Health and Society.
